You have all had a misunderstanding from an email, text message, or something you have said. Why do you think this happens? Give a few examples of things that cause communication to be ineffective and ways to communicate more clearly.
This can happen because some people cant spell. Some people don't use punctuation correctly either. When some people text they abbreviate the're words to make the text shorter and you may not understand what they mean.
ReplyDeleteI think misunderstanding can be caused by not thoroughly explaining what was said or the person being talked to, didn't listen well enough or didn't read the entire message or email. To communicate more clearly, It would be best for each person to listen to each other and make sure whatever is being said, is explained thoroughly.
ReplyDeleteUsually there is a misunderstanding in a written message because there is no way the person reading the message can hear you tone. We can understand someone more clearly in person or on the phone because we know what tone they are using. Which is why I like to communicate in person. Therefore I can see his/her facial expressions and hear their tone.
ReplyDeletespelling defects, punctuation, and tone. you may think someone is yelling or being mean and they aren't
ReplyDeleteImproper format of text. It would be better to send an voice mail if the person cannot get to the phone instead of a text. or send a professional email so that they can understand your tone. Be very straight forward
ReplyDeleteHonestly, it's because most people have lost their communication skills. Nobody calls anyone anymore or sit and talk because of text messaging. With text messaging, anyone can take your written words and do with them what they want. They can take simple, ":)" or "lol" and put meaning to them like they are feeling what the other person is doing.
ReplyDeletespelling errors or the abbreviation of words and someone not know what it means<so talking in person or face to face you can understand better, hear the tone in their voice, see attitude by face expressions.
ReplyDeleteThey are a lot of different ways that people misunderstand but I think one of the biggest ones is that when people abbreviate they use the wrong abbreviations, and it can led things to be said in a whole different way.
ReplyDeleteMiscommunication happens when something is not explained all the way through it. Also grammar can effect communication. The tone of a message can be read differently. It is better to always do something in person
ReplyDeleteMisunderstandings usually happen because of the way a piece of text is written. Also misunderstandings could happen because you can't see they facial expressions of the person talking and you also can't hear the tone of the person's voice. To stop misunderstandings from happening you should talk on the phone or in person. Also if you don't understand what is being said then you should ask for it to be explained more thoroughly.
ReplyDeleteOne reason I've had misunderstandings is because sometimes I can't hear very well. Other reasons may include: different slang or accents or a using a different language entirely or it could be as simple as a typo. lols
ReplyDeletemisunderstanding a text or anything along that nature can be cause by people tone which is important because they cant hear what you saying are how your saying things, also spelling is a big one because if you cant spell in doesn't do you any good
