Culinary Arts 1

Blog Journal - There are many types of cooking methods used in food preparation. Name 2 methods and an example of a food best suited for that cooking method. (All food examples must be different student by student)

  2. Poaching if a good method for fish. Sautéing is another way and it is good for stir-fry.

  4. Poaching an egg works very well. Just as sautéing is good for mushrooms a nice, thick, juicy steak.

  5. deep-frying can be good for fries or chicken, you can also bake chicken or bread or fish or even apples

  8. There is usually more than one way to cook something. Stir fry is usually over the stove, but can be grilled. Burgers are normally grilled but they can be cooked over the stove as well.

  12. macaroni is usually cakes in the oven. but if can also be cooked in a crock pot if would like it more cheesy.

  13. Make sure you cook pork in a crock pot a few hours before you eat it. It cooks slowly but it gives it more flavor. And you can slap it on a bun and pour some barbeque sauce on it have a barbeque sandwich.
